Today we are interviewing Lindsay Frank, @seemomclick. She is a Lancaster PA local and we were super excited to collaborate with her on a content piece. She loves her family, shopping and having a good time. Let’s jump into it!

What Are You Known For?

I am a wife, soccer mom, and family travel and lifestyle blogger at See Mom Click. People who know me well know that I’m a rescue pet advocate and a lover of all things peanut butter!

How Long Have You Lived in Lancaster?

I’ve lived in Lancaster County since 2003.

What Is Your Occupation?

I graduated from Penn State with a degree in Psychology, and then went back to school to get my Master’s in Public Administration from Kutztown University. I was working full-time as a Contract Administrator when my husband and I started our family and our daughter was born in 2005. We made the decision for me to stay home with her, which I absolutely loved being able to do! However, it was a bit of an isolating experience for me to no longer be around other adults all day long. I began to connect with other moms online by following a variety of bloggers. Before too long I thought, “I could do this!” and eventually my blog was born in 2011.

Over the years, my site, See Mom Click, has evolved from a savings site to a family travel and lifestyle blog. Writing on my blog and creating content for my social media channels is now my full-time job, which gives me the flexibility to be my own boss, work from home, and still is here when the kids get home from school. While there are some drawbacks to not being able to get into your car and physically leave work, overall it has been a blessing for me to create my own business. I have worked with some amazing brands, traveled to fantastic destinations, and am so thankful for the opportunities my work has provided for me and my family.

Questions:

What do you love most about living in Lancaster?

Lancaster County is a beautiful place to live. I love all of the farmland and rural, country roads. The variety of things to do – amazing restaurants, family fun centers, shopping, theatre – make Lancaster the perfect place to raise a family.

Why do you love The Shops @Rockvale?

The Shops @Rockvale offer a huge variety, and I can bang out my shopping list in one stop. When my kids were little, I could stock their entire wardrobes at Carter’s and OshKosh without breaking the bank. Now I enjoy shopping for my home at Kirkland and Pottery Barn Outlet. Plus, a meal at Cracker Barrel is a special treat! I used to waitress at one of these restaurants when I was in college and still crave their Chicken n’ Dumplins!

Tell us something about your family that your IG followers don’t even know.

We hang a crazy number of Christmas stockings up each year. Each member of the family gets one, including every pet (plus the stray cat that roams our neighborhood). There are only four people in our family but we have had as many as 10 stockings hung. All creatures great and small deserve a Christmas treat!

What do you love to do for fun in Lancaster? Your family looks like they are always having fun. What do you do to help encourage a healthy and active lifestyle?

We love to travel and we explore new places and things to do as much as possible. As my kids get older, I think it is one of the most important ways we stay connected and bonded as a family. When we’re home, they want to be with friends (or screens…my fellow parents understand!), but when we travel we are spending quality time together and making memories. It’s more than just having fun. It’s therapeutic for all of us. Travel doesn’t have to be a big expensive trip. There is so much to do within a couple of hours of Lancaster, or right here in our county! The more we’ve made a point to get out there and explore, the more we’ve discovered in our own backyard.

Questions for the Holidays:

What is your favorite dish to share for the holidays?

Every Christmas Eve, I made a Leek and Potato Soup that is to-die-for. We have many favorite holiday recipes (hello, Christmas cookies!), but this is a tradition that I started for our family as opposed to one that has been passed down from previous generations, and we all look forward to it every year.

Do you have any special family traditions?

We have many holiday family traditions. Sometimes it’s a challenge to squeeze them all in with the limited weekends between Thanksgiving and Christmas! We bake cookies, watch LOTS of Christmas movies together, drive around to see the lights, and we always cut a fresh Christmas tree. Each year I say that next year we’ll get a fake tree and it will be easier, but so far it hasn’t happened!
